The Investing Engine was built from close to 10 million rows of data — 26 years of history from an international UK brokerage. Its job was simple. What came out of it shocked me — and I'm an experienced ex-investment adviser.
Across 14,000 names, with weekly price data, I asked AI to optimise my returns systematically — in a way I could trade in five minutes a week. I don't want to spend my life analysing squiggles on charts and financial statements, then agonising over decisions. I want something I trust that takes me five minutes a week.
The Investing Engine has refuted most of the academic and industry literature — the sacred cows, the golden rules. I know, because I rigorously tested it hundreds of times, trying to break it. I failed. Spectacularly, and repeatedly.

Every challenge is written down and committed before the answer is known — so nobody can move the goalposts after seeing the result.
Adversarial
The maker never grades its own work. A separate, independent reviewer re-runs everything in refute-mode and tries to prove it wrong; a third arbitrates. Our own bad numbers get killed the same way bad ideas do.

Forty-seven challenger ideas — sacred cows and golden rules — raced head-to-head against the engine. The ones that lost are printed alongside the ones that won. Nothing is buried.
Honest
The figures are reconstructed from history, and the rules were chosen using that same history — so treat every number as a ceiling, not a forecast. The survivorship caveat travels with the record.

We publish the results, the tests, and every idea that failed. We will never publish the mechanics — the rules that pick the names stay private. That's the one thing a key doesn't unlock, and we'd rather say so now than pretend otherwise.
