Plain-English summary: we collect your email, the one dropdown answer, and your country, so we can send your key and — only if you tick the box — tell you when seats open. We never sell your data. You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete you at any time.
Who we are
The Investing Engine is an impersonal financial publication. This page explains what we collect when you request a free API key at theinvestingengine.com. Questions: privacy@theinvestingengine.com.
What we collect
- Your email address — to verify you and deliver your key.
- One segment answer — which of a few options best describes you (e.g. saver, fund, family office).
- Your country — derived automatically from your connection by our infrastructure provider; we do not ask for or store your precise location.
- Timestamps and a marketing preference — when you signed up and confirmed, and whether you opted in to updates.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on this page, and we do not build a profile of your browsing.
How we use it
- To send you a one-time confirmation email and issue your API key.
- To operate and protect the service (for example, rate-limiting to prevent abuse).
- Only if you opt in: to email you when membership seats open and when we publish new material, and — where relevant to the option you selected — about commissioned work for funds and family offices. You can withdraw this at any time.
Getting a key does not require opting in to marketing. Your key works either way.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We use a small number of processors to run the service: Cloudflare (hosting and infrastructure) and Resend (sending email). They process data on our instructions only.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link in it.
- Access or delete your data, or revoke your key, by emailing privacy@theinvestingengine.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the UK/EU GDPR or the CCPA.
Retention
We keep your signup record while your key is active. Unconfirmed signups and one-time confirmation links expire automatically.
